Dry Cough Vs. Phlegmy Cough | What To Eat!




When a respiratory bug hits certain foods are better for a phlegmy cough and certain foods are better for a dry cough. Here's a quick cheat sheet to guide you:


Foods to eat with a dry cough: soups, congee, cantaloupe, seaweed, cabbage, cauliflower, mung beans, strawberries, carrots, radish, watercress, green tea, peppermint tea, pears.

 

Foods to avoid with a dry cough: coffee, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, alcohol, spicy foods.




 Foods to eat with a phlegmy cough: cardamom, cinnamon, seaweeds, mushrooms, cayenne, flaxseed, daikon, thyme, ginger, cherries, turnips, onions, radish, watercress.

 

 

Foods to avoid with a phlegmy cough: dairy, sugar, red meat, peanuts, tofu, fatty foods, fried foods, wheat, oats
